Last year, December 2016 to be exact, I began a new weight loss journey. Before then, I had tried A LOT of different things to try and lose weight. I have tried Skinny Fiber (which worked for awhile), exercising (at a plateau), CLA belly fat pill (made me nausceous), Garcinia (no noticeable results), Shakeology, etc. None of these provided me with long term results. None of these, is probably healthy and good for my body.
FINALLY, I DECIDED that I needed a permanent change. A permanent change means something that I will do for the rest of my life. None of the previous things I tried is something I could do permanently, because they would not benefit me health-wise. Not only is my goal to finally lose the weight I gained after having children, but it is also to be healthy. After seeing things about clean-eating, I finally DECIDED to give it a try.
Let me tell you, it was HARD at first! Clean-eating means no processed sugar; as well as not eating any processed food. That means that my morning coffee would NEVER be the same. Talk about a huge disappointment. Sipping my coffee in the mornings had always been one of my favorite things to do; especially when everyone else was sleeping 😏 It was my quiet time while I woke up. If you know me, then you know I am NOT a morning person and do not like to be bothered until I am fully awake.
I did cheat during the first month of my clean-eating lifestyle. I still had coffee creamer that I loved, and I chose to finish it instead of throwing it away. I did however switch to pure stevia instead of using sugar, which in itself, was a great start. I quit eating small chocolate treats in the evenings as well.
For the most part, before I began clean-eating, I was a healthy eater. I preferred eating salads with no dressing, love my veggies, ate fruit on occasion, only drank water (except for morning coffee), and already had substitutes when baking. So for me, it was not that hard to change my other eating habits. Years ago I had gotten rid of a lot of boxed (processed) items anyway because I did not want my children eating crap. The hardest part for me has been learning what clean-eating really entails, portion control, substitutions, and why certain food items that I thought were healthy, are actually not healthy. The more I learn, the more grateful I am that I began this journey, for myself and for my family.
I have also began only buying organic fruits and vegetables. When you realize the chemicals being used on your produce is seeping in anyway, like a sponge, it becomes quite clear that you should not want this stuff in your body at all. I don’t want this stuff in my family’s body either. That is why I made the switch. Organic produce taste better anyway. Not only do I buy organic, I also buy ALL of my meat from Zaycon Fresh. I would recommend going to their website and reading about how and where they get their meat. Especially now that the US has chosen to not have to disclose where the meat in stores is coming from, I’d be careful about where I buy it. You never know what you’re getting and if the meat you’re buying is from a healthy source. Let alone all the chemicals, hormones, and antibiotics they are pumped with!
Since I posted that this was about my weight loss results… here they are!
As you see I have lost 5.5 pounds in 49 days. That is equal to 7 weeks. I have lost 0.8 pounds per week. Yes, it is under 1 pound, but more than 1/2 a pound. Also, because it is slow and steady, it means that the weight I am losing is FAT LOSS! Would you rather lose 5 pounds of water weight, or 5 pounds of fat? I know my answer.
As you see above, I have also lost 5.2 inches around my body in 49 days, or 7 weeks. Even though I don’t have a picture, looking in the app I use to keep track of my weight and inches, I have lost 1 inch around my chest, .2 in my bicep, 1.8 in my waist, .8 in my hips, .5 in my thighs, and .5 in my calves.
Based on my weight loss results, and the fact that they will keep getting better, do you see how this truly works? Are you ready to join me in your weight loss journey and learn what I am doing?
